Nils-Eric Sahlin

Nils-Eric Sahlin is head coordinator of the VBE research programme. He has a PhD in Theoretical Philosophy and is Professor and Chair of Medical Ethics, Lund University. Sahlin is a member of The Royal Swedish Academy of Letters, History and Antiquities, whose board (förvaltningsutskottet) he joined in 2014. He is an expert member of The Swedish National Council of Medical Ethics and Chairman of Swedish Research Council’s (Vetenskapsrådets) Expert Group on Ethics. For several years he has worked with the Swedish Council of Health Technology Assessment (SBU). 

Within the VBE research programme Professor Sahlin will work on the philosophy of evidence-formation. He will also work closely with the researchers investigating some of the empirical and ethical questions outlined above.
